v The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has projected India to remain the fastest growing Asian nation with 7.3% growth in 2018-19, and 7.6% in 2019-20. 
v Census of Indus Dolphins
ü The first organised census of Indus Dolphins will be carried out by the Punjab government along with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) -India for the conservation of Indus dolphins, which are one of the world’s rarest mammals. 
WORLD
v “APSTAR-6C”
ü China has successfully launched a new communication satellite “APSTAR-6C” into orbit by the Long March 3B launch vehicle from Xichang Satellite Launch Center at Sichuan province of China. 

CONFERENCES
v International Children’s Theatre Festival 2018
ü The 2018 International Children’s Theatre Festival will be held at West Bengal from June 17 to 21. 
ü During the conference, measures to ensure safety, continued training and checks and balances on crew proficiency on-board its frontline warships will be reviewed.
v Bi-annual Naval Commander’s Conference
ü The bi-annual Naval Commander’s Conference will be held in New Delhi from May 8, 2018
v The first apex conference for the CEOs of Smart Cities
ü The first apex conference for the CEOs of Smart Cities will be held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on 8th May 2018.
ü It will be inaugurated by Minister of State (I/C) for Housing & Urban Affairs, Hardeep Puri.

v Ramit Tandon from India has won the Abu Dhabi Open squash title on May 6, 2018. 
v In Shooting, Olympian Gagan Narang and Pooja Ghatkar clinched a Silver medal in the 10-meter Air Rifle Mixed Team event in the Grand Prix of Liberation International competition at Pilsen in the Czech Republic on May 6, 2018.
